No matter how much fans want him back in the cowl and cape, Christian Bale won’t play Batman again.
Even though pretty everyone involved in the Batman films has said Bale won’t be a part of any new Batman/Superman team-up/Justice League films, the internet refuses to believe it.
Healthy box office receipts for Superman reboot Man of Steel has sparked all sorts of talk of a universe in which Batman and Superman co-exist.
But director Christopher Nolan’s acclaimed Batman trilogy won’t be a part of that vision. Bale has long insisted he won’t be part of Batman without Nolan, and Nolan for his part has said he’s done with Batman.
But just in case that wasn’t clear enough, Bale told EW: “We were incredibly fortunate to get to make three [Batman films]. That’s enough. Let’s not get greedy.”
He also shot down speculation that he’s part of Justice League, an Avengers-style team-up with Superman and other heroes. “I have no information, no knowledge about anything. I’ve literally not had a conversation with a living soul. I understand that they may be making a Justice League movie, that’s it.”
