Pop star Katy Perry suffered an awkward moment on stage when she was caught lip-synching at an award ceremony in France.
Perry’s performance was seconds away from the playback of her song Roar at the annual NRJ music awards in Cannes this weekend.
After almost a minute of Perry doing her extremely-off synch-thing, the show’s host barged in to stop the performance.
Being French and very charming he takes her hand and kisses it before saying, “if you don’t mind, we can restart. We had a little problem with the sound.”
Do tell.
“I’m sorry to stop all your energy – I prefer you to be the best,” he added.
He then counted Perry down for another go at her hit song, apparently with actual live-and-on-stage singing.
So far there has been no word to as what has gone wrong.
Also at the NRJ Awards, Perry won International Song for Roar and International Female Artist, and she performed some more.
