A Chinese farmer caused chaos on the roads when he ducked out to feed his flock of 5,000.
A local farmer from Eastern China brought the street to a standstill as he herded an army of 5,000 or so ducks to a pond where they were to be fed. The farmer, who identified himself by his surname Hong, together with his colleague, maneuvered the birds across the street using a simple cane as you can see in the photographs. Hong said he had not lost one duck during the migration the past six months.
Hong, 70, said there were practical reasons for walking the ducks.
“The ducks will eat enough and won’t feel hungry after I walk them. This is to save feed. Also the duck eggs and duck meat will taste better if I raise them in a wild way,” he said.
