During Sunday Nights Award Show BET handed out The Well-deserved Humanitarian Award to the Reverend Al Sharpton.
He was celebrated, in part, for his voter education efforts, his tireless pursuit of civil rights, and being of general service to the African American community, and beyond for many decades!
Ordained in the Pentecostal church, Al Sharpton is an outspoken and albeit at times controversial political activist. His dramatic style, paired with intelligence and eloquence of speech, brings popular and media attention to his causes. With his undaunting approach to seeking out inequality and making things right he had done more for the Civil Rights cause than many can claim to have.
Congratulations Mr. Sharpton on the well deserved recognition.
